Welcome to the Meyer Food Blog
We’re a mixed culture family living in Vilnius, Lithuania. Through all the cultural differences and other difficult circumstances, we’ve always had food to fall back on to make us happy and bring us joy.
It always starts from two people, cooking and creating new types of food. Later it spreads to others, friends, family, colleagues, and the discussions and dinners help us create wonderful, strong relationships.
That’s what food means to us, and it isn’t hard to see why we love it so much. And because we love it so much, and know the power that can come with spreading that love, we wanted to start our blog and share everything we’ve learnt about it and hopefully pick up some amazing new ideas and recipes along the way.
What’s on the blog
First of all, we have to mention that everything we say here is based on our opinion. You know, if we think one restaurant or one type of food is better than another, that’s just our subjective opinion. We truly respect yours and would love to hear it as much as possible. Dialogue is great and helps us to become better food eaters.
We like healthy, homemade food, and in some ways, homemade food is always healthy (at least, healthier than store bought). Having said that, there is one golden rule when it comes to food: it has to be delicious. And that’s where opinions differ slightly. I (Diana) love healthy food, fish, lean meat and vegetables. And I (Bernard) love anything grilled or smoked, meat with fat and/or bones, and the three most important b’s in life: Bread, Butter, and Brie.
Our daughter, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to know what she likes just yet. Sometimes similar to Papa, sometimes similar to Mama. But somehow we always find a way to cook the food that we all love.
We’re not professional chefs, photographers, web developers or anything even related. We’re just in love with cooking and the power of food.
We’re happy you’ve come here to our blog and hope you’ll stay a while.
